We wanted a traditional looking car that was a bit different. We knew we wanted an “ugly” traditional color that was timeless, with a bunch of cool accessories on it.
The car started as an old show-drag car when I got it about 10 years ago. She was rough but that made the comeback even better.
The Hemi in the car was pulled from a jet engine jump starter from the military! It has a SPEC. number on the engine tag that makes it unique.
I wanted something that I could drive everyday. I didn’t want it so nice that I wouldn’t park it in a parking deck for 8 hours, so it is perfect for me! I have a lot of fun driving this car, rain or shine.
Vivian Johnson’s Copper Coupe was done over a 3 year period and completed on June 5th 2015.
My coupe was a father and son project. We built it in a three-stall garage in 18 months. Chassis, chop, body work, and paint… it never left the garage till finished.
The subtle progression of the Roadster, with help from many friends, both professional car builders to garage buddies, all have helped this car evolve into what it is today.
